Advice to Joe Lieberman

Joe Lieberman will most likely retain his Senate seat, and so he doesn't really need any campaign advice. In the interests of propriety however, I'm going to note that it's probably a poor idea for a Jewish politician to name his youthful vanguard the LieberKidz, a bowlderized construction that's awfully similer to, well, um, how shall I put this delicately, the, uh, Hitlerjugend.

Once again, I'm just sayin' . . .

Believe it or else, I once went to a political function at Corliss Lamont's Westchester estate when I was about 12 or 13.

All the Westchester Ethical Culture Unitarian socialists were in awe of Corliss, an industrialist who was also a socialist.

Unfortunately, Connecticut is far more full of Italian/Irish lumpenproletariat and Jews with lingering affection for Meir Kahane than it is of Ethical Culture Unitarian socialists.

So the result was predicatble, despite DufyKos's 15 minutes of fame.

Lamont's team reminded me of the very nice people who used to go on peace marches in the early 60's from Briarcliff Manor or Scarborough to the UN Plaza, a la Aldermaston.

They all wore duffel coats with wooden bar buttons, uniformly loden green of course.

They all grew up to drive XKE's - British racing green, of course.
