Ah, Christ. The Obsty dropped the baby on the delivery-room floor six years ago, and its godfather is still standing in the bloodstain, trying to figure out what to call it.

Beinart may be right when he says that the word war which means only that the country is going to mobilize a much greater portion of its energy than it did before the designation may have been (has been) misinterpreted by the American people as a martial undertaking.
