Credibility

SilentPatriot, a poster at C&L, wants us to understand that "President Bush simply has no credibility left." I'm not really sure what that means or why it matters, since every single US Senator and a solid majority of our Reps have already signed up for the Slim Picken's Iran tour. Thank God for La Nan and Harry Reid. If not for them, we might all be toiling as serfs for Ralph Nader and Iran would have already recreated the caliphate from al-Andalus to the steppes of Asia and the forests of China.

I think your typical Shias are not so interested in the caliphate.

Not that that matters to a political class that warns in stentorian tones of Osama rebuilding the caliphate, which he want to, but is totally incapable of<-->reminds me a bit of the Project for a New American Century or, er, the National Security Strategy of the United States (same thing really)<-->but I though I'd note for accuracy's sake.

Anyway, my quibble doesn't damage your point, which, as always, is well taken.

A consummation devoutly to be wished. They did things like invent algebra, 0, refine and save the works of Aristotle, do amazing things for the time in medicine. Really, the Caliphate would be an improvement for that area...although, I don't know that there are a lot of forests left in China to extend to. Thing most have been painted in lead and sold to us.
