And, by the way, can someone please explain to me why Clinton and Levin jumped on the dump Maliki bandwagon? This campaign is clearly being orchestrated by the White House. It strikes me as a either a major error in judgment or something much more nefarious--a signal that the Dems are backing this coup. Am I missing something?Dear Digby,
-Digby
The Dems are backing this coup.
Sincerely,

It's way beyond comedy at this point, it's just sad.
I know. Tragedy, then farce, then what?
In comments I compared Digby to an abused woman who can't leave her partner.
Sure its sexist (I would say the same to Atrios, Marshall, Kos, etc.), but how do you get through to these people?
Great bog, Ioz.
Thanks, Walter. We aim to please.
After Hillary, Obama and Harry Reid return from their bombing run over Iran where they get the honor of dropping the first 2,000 lb bombs on Tehran as the official beginning of our war on Iran, Digby will be chin scratching, "Can someone please explain to me why these leading dems participated so directly in this? It's almost like they are on board with the Bush Administration's foreign policy. They explain their vote approving the use of force as a political move to help lock down the White House in '08, and I understand that. But playing Kong in a bomb bay over Iran? This strikes me as a tactical error in political judgment, it's almost looks like they actually approve of this war. I must be missing something here. Any help?"
Unfortunately, it's tragedy, then farce ... followed by more tragedy.
What's sad is that the Demobloggers only abet the propaganda by refusing to acknowledge how venal, and therefore complicit, their heroes really are (other than Gravel). Propaganda is necessary to soften public perception, before the murdering begins. Digby and the other snarkmeisters, by not standing up for what they know is right, and by continuing to lend support to a rigged system, merely normalize the propaganda, turning it into a problem of nuance and cadence instead of what it is, rapprochement with evil.
Dear Ioz,
Give Digby a little room, why dontcha? Feigning stupidity about certain things is a good career move in the netroots.
Sincerely,
Isys
PS. In her favor, the feigning portion is only a small percentage. Most of the stupidity is authentic.

Then prison camps for everyone! Yay!
We all get reminded eventually that cynicism only goes so far as a protective measure against the things that make one cynical.

Absurdism, dadaism, and postmodern deconstruction. And an E-Z Pay mortgage on it all.
