Litigate

Believing that the costs of litigation are relevant in the slightest to corporations like AT&T and Verizon -- as Hiatt obviously does, or at least pretends to -- is to display exactly the lack of Seriousness and Sophistication which The Washington Post Editorial Page believes itself to embody.

-Greenwald, again
Dear Glenn,

It's almost as if the Washington Post Company (NYSE:WPO) is a diversified media and education company whose principal operations include newspaper and magazine publishing, educational and career services, television broadcasting, cable television systems and electronic information services.

Fiscally,
IOZ

It almost seems we are becoming a corporate state.

How long must the world suffer under the tortured preening puffed up faux-legal prose of Glenn Greenwald?

God that dude's writing is as valid as Syrup of Ipecac for inducing the puke reflex.

Is Ioz saying "a diversified media and education company whose principal operations include newspaper and magazine publishing, educational and career services, television broadcasting, cable television systems and electronic information services" cannot be serious and/or sophisticated?

Or is he saying Glenn's presumed assumption that Wapo thinks of itself as Serious is a "You. Cannot. Be. Serious." moment?

I doubt Glenn thinks they think they are serious, although his commenters may. There are still five or ten extremely irritating people in this country who think WAPO editorials are designed to be serious and not all of them are on Daily Kos.

Anyway, I'm still back on the driving 10 mph in the fast lane, or even 100 miles an hour in the slow lane. Yo. Whatever it takes.

To Leonard:

You wrote "our cause is liberty" on another thread, talking about "libertarians".

I had three problems with that.

The first was "our."

Beware of groups.

The second was "our cause".

That started to sound omnious.

The third was "our cause is liberty" because I was drinking water when I read that and spewed it out all over my keyboard.

Consider this instead:

"The term (minarchist) is perhaps most often used to differentiate libertarians who believe it is possible to have a state that protects individual liberty without violating it itself, from the anarchists who believe that any state is inherently a violation of individual liberty. Minarchists believe some minimal government is necessary to preserve liberty (from invading non-minarchy based armies, if nothing else)."

The "nothing else" is growing on me.
