Pick-a-little, Talk-a-little

Is it only me, or does it seem a little fishy that this article in the Weekly Standard holds out congressional earmarks as an example of "strict free-market ideology"?

The Overton Window has moved a long ways from when Ron Paul's ideas were considered normal, so there's little that can be pointed to as an example of limited government. And if you've got a problem with the way things are done now, you obviously haven't realized that we aren't living in the 19th century and things are different now.

Will Wilkinson has a good go at the article here, analogizing their ideology to a wood-paneled den.
