Educating the GOP: A Photo History of Community Organizers

After watching the malicious speeches last night mocking Senator Obama, and by proxy, cynically attacking all of us who support our local communities, I thought it would be prudent to educate the Republican Party on the historical role of community organizers.

So, GOP, meet community organizer Yog Soggoth, stupendous in its malign suggestiveness. He was there when the Old Ones broke through, and knowns when they shall break through again.

Meet community organizer The Chupacabra. He helped drain the blood of goats and bring new respectability to the field of cryptozoology.

Meet community organizer Moloch. He brought together wealthy men of all political affiliations to plot world domination at the Bohemian Grove.

Meet community organizer John Wilkes Booth. He brought together a conspiracy of like-minded revanchists. Sic semper deadbeats.

Meet community organizer Khan Noonien Singh. He ensured that a small remnant of his band of eugenic supermen survived even after Tau Ceti V was shifted in orbit by the explosion of Tau Ceti VI.

Never forget the power of the people.

Interesting. I had missed the Principled Anarchist Case against community organizers, but I'm sure it's around here somewhere, in between these tired pop culture references.

yeah community organizers! I hate those fuckers!

The inclusion of Moloch is just plain tendentious and John Wilkes Booth was a piker.

I'm not sure if this joke went over my head, or just crawled under my feet. Either way, it blows.

You gotta love the internets. Umbrage, ho!

you'll not find any Principled Anarchists around here. and if that's your attempt at the broad side of this barn, you might want to put down the Nerf and get something with a little lead.

now can I get an angel of darkness?

"now can I get an angel of darkness?"

Sure! The umbrage of damned souls is a tasty treat and inviting them over was very thoughtful. People are always invoking us without paying any attention to the basic courtesies. But we have feelings too, even if we are evil. So, yeah, of course you can have an angel of darkness.

It's just that, "community organizer" is listed on my resume.

Right, which is why Mr. IOZ writes all those posts on "Anarchy" and against the tyranny of states.

Look, someone took a swing at the bloated, overstuffed Dem pinata and missed, apparently because he doesn't know what a community organizer does. Hey, happens to all of us. The point here, if you want to mock the ever-mockable netroots for their response to the GOP's "community organizing is totally gay" thing, is that the netroots have never given a shit about community organizing, and in fact their entire Party-Above-All ethos runs entirely contrary to community organizing's typical indifference to electoral politics. But hey, what do I know? There's a Star Trek reference! Yuks for all!

Say, where did all these dim, humorless twats (watch Msr take issue with that one too) come from all of a sudden? Did Digby finally tire of having her comments strafed by bored readers of this hear blog and turned her flying monkeys to thoughts of revenge?

Jeez louise, the peanut gallery is really going for the jugular today, eh? IOZ, for shame, your little blog entry wasn't sufficiently cutting and substantive for Mr. Christopher M of The Great State Of Umbrage! How dare you not churn out quality blog posts for your readers! You owe us, pally!

Does a community organizer . . . organize communities? I'm shooting in the dark. Personally, I'm still confused about "fireman," like old Ray B.

Jubal said...

Oh, fuck. Did any one the people with objections read the Kos post? If you had, you'd have found that the post listed Clinton and Obama amongst numerous others who really did try to help people organize for their community benefit. Including Clinton and Obama is like celebrating the foxes who organized the chickens. It is risible, and deserving of ridicule, which is what it got. Now do you understand?

IOZ said...

I don't know what you fucks are talking about. My point is that Hillary and Ricardo Montalban . . . oh, nevermind.

Abaddon said...

It could be much worse. They might trick someone into trying to bang some sense into their heads...

Oh wait, I get it. Obama is made of rich, Corinthian leather, right?

Yes, because even in his early twenties, Obama knew that someday he would use the very souls of those selfsame laid-off steelworkers and members of Catholic Democrats to fuel the unholy altar of his ambition. Oh, the demeaning exploitation they suffered at his hands.

(Yeah, yeah, neither of them is particularly inspiring or idealistic in the present day. But come on, it was a chance to use "fuel the unholy altar of his ambition.")

Mr.Fundamental said...

dude, they juxtaposed Hillary with fucking Jesus. what the fuck? well hell, even I organized The Defeatists!

now, is that a Sears poncho?

She had that camarillo brillo flaming out around her head . . .

I was going to chide our host for not including Herve Villechaize ( a tireless community organizer second to none) on the list of community organizers, but I am prostrate before MDS' use of "fuel the unholy altar of his ambition."

May have to hit myself with a spanner.

It was risible and deserving of ridicule, and this was failed ridicule.

MandT said...

Does Ann Coulter count or is she a mere minion?

Jubal said...

Life goes on, I guess.

Mr.Fundamental said...

I thought this guy would fit, too. he organized the community, "around him."

fuck it, I'm moving to Montana soon. . .

IOZ said...

Failed ridicule is best addressed by successful ridicule. Dander undoes itself. Word to your mutha.

Leonard said...

You know who else was a community organizer? Hitler!

So you see, Young Republicans, it's never really about the organizer, it's about the community... Remember that on November 4th. Remember the power of the people.

God, how do people stand DailyKos?

I mean, Cesar fucking Chavez? Puh-leese.

Okay, true story time: I live in Portland, OR., which is famed as being a hotbed of far-left hippies. Back in the middle of last year, the Mayor decided to name a street after Cesar Chavez.

As it turns out, the Mayor can't just unilaterally rename streets, so the whole thing quickly devolved into full-on debacle status, with angry residents demanding that the street keep its current, very dear to them name: Interstate Avenue.

Now they're trying to rename Fourth Ave, but apparently people don't think its appropriate for Cesar Chavez Blvd to run straight through the middle of Chinatown.

In any case, my point is, one of the most liberal cities in the country can't get it together enough to name a fucking street after Chavez. I HIGHLY doubt that Joe Republican is going to say, "Fuck yeah, Cesar Chavez! That guy fucking ROCKED!"

I would've forgiven the ridiculous, self-righteous tone if BonnieSchlitz had ended with,

"Meet Sarah Palin, community organizer"

I mean, she mocked Barack's community organizing in the same speech where she explained that joining the PTA and being an activist in her community is what enabled her to do well as a Mayor.

I mean, I think that she ought to be raked over the coals for that, but we should try to do it a little better then this.

But we've all behaved very well. Why there hasn't been a single mention of forcible sodomy with a razor sharp dinosaur talon throughout this thread.

oh.

I was just riding my bike around the far south side Obama purportedly organized today, and holy fuck could those communities ever use some organizing. People don't even have it together enough to be scary there. If anyone wants to get on Obama for anything it should be for being shitty at his job. I'll bet those people could have used the help!

Yeah, it would have been wise to follow the link, huh? I take back my unsubstantiated criticism. That was a fucking retarded Kos post.

You know, Dr. Doom was a community organizer too. He organized the fuck out of Latveria. Why won't you admit it, IOZ? What is behind your anti-Latverian agenda?
