All I can say is that I am almost done with Tom McCarthy's first novel, Remainder, and I'm pretty sure this dude is the new Calvino.

So, uh, is that a recommendation? Cus, well, I liked Invisible Cities and all, but name dropping Calvino doesn't usually send me scurrying to the local Barnes & Noble (my kingdom for a real bookstore).
Just sayin'.
Name-dropping Calvino does send me scurrying to a bookstore, so this better be good.
Really, because I've got to tell you, I'm a big fan. Baron in the Trees? One of my sentimental favorites.
Never read Baron in the Trees. Hell, I'm doing well to have read his "important" stuff.
I'm a fucking mathematician and computer scientist, dude, not some crypto-bohemian lit fag.
Cut me some slack here.
Speaking of which, though, you really ought to keep a running list of what you're reading for those of us who are ill-equipped to wade through the Recent Releases section on our own. I would've never given this Tom McCarthy guy a second glance.
Calvino would enjoy this "new Calvino" concept as a plot point?
Yeah IOZ, book list, c'monnnnnn
