Dear IOZ,
Sometimes it is.
Seriously,
Those below your pedestal
IOZ needs a hug and a cowbell.
Oh, come on, it's been funny extremely rarely for most of its existence, but in the early days...
...Hang on, you're just trying to get another rhubarb going, aren't you, Monsieur?
"I would now like to do my impression of Karen Carpenter...having fifteen-inch glass spikes driven through her eyes."
if the point is that their satire of sarah palin was really quite thin considering how much play it got, i agree.
that can not be right. sarah palin sucks and SNL making fun of her made me feel good about myself, ergo SNL is awesome. that dick in the box stuff was just a temporary unfortunate foray into sophomoric pandering...right?!?
if the boorish jon stewart has taught us anything, it is that satire of our politicians is....um, fish barrel NRA

It had some funny moments in the mid/late 90's but from the time Tina Fey, the unfunniest woman in America, was promoted to head writer, it hasn't had a single laugh. If you think SNL sucks, try watching 30 Rock. Marci Klein should be arrested as an Enemy of the State.
Dan Akroyd did a great Jimmy Carter; Dana Carvey nailed Poopy Bush; and Tina Fey hammered Palin.
They'll continue to be uneven...(the days of chevy chase and dan akroyd are gone forever), but the high spots are worth keeping that show around.
And bonus: I think SNL helped us to defeat McBush. They may well have saved our country in that. If McBush had won the election, we would not have been an election by 2016.
Timely.
Got any potshots at Titanic while you are at it?

dude, the campaign is over. deep breaths.
idiot wins.
You know what's funny? The dude several threads down arguing that Big Evolution is covering up all the PROOF that unmasks it for the fraud that it is.
idiot: perhaps this post had been sitting in the drafts section since last October.
I've a potshot for the Titantic: enjoy your moment in the sun, because you're going down, my friend. YOU SUCK!!!!!1!
hey see if you can guess what happens to me when I think of Sarah Palin, Tina Fey, Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin, or for that matter Tina Fey "doing" Sarah Palin (awww yeah)

To Indict Bush,
Hey, I bet you were one of those people writing on blogs "Lawdie, lawdie, help us, help us!!! The Repugs will refuse to have an election in 2008, won't relinquish power and will institute martial law."
Werentcha? Huh?
but in the early days...
In the early days it was vastly overrated by millions of Americans who had apparently never heard of sketch comedy before.
The ONLY things that have EVER been funny are midgets and farts.
Well, if you didn't find this to be funny, then I give up...

THIS isn't funny?
Seriously? THIS isn't funny?
If you are actually being serious, and this isn't some lame attempt at meta-satire or something, you are tragically humor-challenged. You have my unending pity.

george w. made at least one policy decision you agree with. i don't imagine, however, you will signing up for a seminar on "effective leadership" with george w. as keynote speaker.
SNL is not funny. It is the opposite of funny. It is enraging that grownups think of that shit and feed it to other grownups.
It depresses me that people who read this blog disagree.
I haven't seen Titanic but I bet it has way more redeeming qualities than SNL. SNL makes me embarrassed for America.
Tina Fey is the very definition of someone who thinks she is funny.
to the anonymouses...yes. i absolutetly believed that bush and cheney would find some way to circumvent the election.
and i gotta tell ya...if they weren't so fucking unpopular, they may well have tried.
but somehow someway, the fucking media woke up, and actually started to report negative things about them. (the shit they shoulda been reporting in 2004 - BEFORE the election).
and i am taking deep breaths. it's easier that way to belt out the words while i sing Yes We Can.
♥

you do realize that makes absolutely no sense at all, right?
You know, I've seen a few of those best of compilations of the supposedly great early years of SNL and I don't think a single sketch has ever gotten more then a "yeah, that's kind of funny" out of me.
Like that Richard Pryor Chevy Chase interview sketch. Yeah, it's kind of funny, and I get it, but there's pretty much just one joke in the entire sketch. It's not a gutbuster.
McBush? Is this a jab at his Scottish ancestry?
anyway...
Seth Myers is the funniest man on earth.
IOZ, you ignorant slut...
I'm with you IOZ, but...
"Brian Fellows Safari Planet"
those skits were fucking funny. still are in my opinion.
