This being America, we can congratulate ourselves once more on the "peaceful transition of power," a feat which occurs nowhere else on earth, ever, and which, when power changes factional hands, invariably features the newly ousted discovering the necessary limits on government power lest we surrender to tyranny &c., while the newly empowered embrace the wise and necessary employ of maximum destruction, lest we succumb to terror or instability or whatever.
