We doubt much will come from any of this. With Obama’s promise of non-prosecution for any officer or contractor who acted within the four corners of the absurd OLC memos Holder is free to go after the new Lynndie Englands. If they play their cards right, they will position themselves as martyrs, get book deals, air time on Fox and then become senior fellows with that titan of international policy analysis, Cliff May. Embedding the rendition and detainee program with Brennan in the White House would not have occurred to Terry Gilliam even with ether and a Samoan attorney.Barack Obama is really turning out to be an odious little man, isn't he?

I ask you: if you eliminate Smokey Joe Biden's infelicitous identification of Barry O. as "clean and articulate," can you, even at a stretch, come up with something praiseworthy? What a vicious, small-minded monster of a man.

(1) He likes frozen custard.
(2) He'd rather have a Blackberry than an iPhone.
(3) He can do the Vulcan salute.
(4) He might be uncircumcised.
(5) He's clean and articulate.
In an alternate universe Barry Dunham is president.
he picked the useless Joe (Biden) instead of the scary Joe (Lieberman)...

Please overlook my indulgence of an unworthy obsession. "Odious" needs that second "o."
Michelle's organic garden?
I got nothin'. he's fucking scum.
Obama was a good bowler, and a good man. He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors... and bowling, and as a surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo.
He's got an infectious laugh...
1) doesn't talk about jesus very much.
2) gave an ok speech to the muslim world.
3)is not pushing tort reform (i'm an ambulance chaser so i like this one).
4) hasn't invaded any new countries.

Hi, IOZ. It's me, Donny. What's wrong with Samoan attorneys?
And Barry? If you didn't expect much, and you didn't get it...what's the big deal?
he undid the global gag rule on abortion
he allowed stem cell research
He approved the ledbetter act
other than that? phbt
So if you live in Maine, you know, we’re going to fly you into California, put you up. I mean, you can see — and I’m not trying to make light of it — you can just see the difficulty.
Actually Ran Prieur just put it really well. So Obama is an evil man who spent twenty-five years of his life pretending to be a nice liberal? Just to better carry out his evil schemes? It doesn't make sense.
Though he doesn't put it this way, Prieur's theory is that the "Deep State" has gotten out of control of the visible, legal parts of the government. There is also some evidence that GW Bush is a nice man.
I didn't say evil, I said odious. Also "vicious and small-minded." I do not see how these modifiers abnegate "nice liberal." The mutually intensify, if you ask me.
"The Deep State" excuse is just "the Devil made him do it" for the twentieth/twenty-first centuries.

Yeah, I actually have some sympathy for this sort of argument when it involves legislation, since members of Congress can be pricks too. But when it comes to functions of the executive branch, it's a lame excuse. Why, what can an energetic, intelligent President do? His hands are tied. Sorry, if the President, e.g., really wanted Guantanamo detainees to face only regular court proceedings instead of kangaroo military tribunals, it would happen.
And if Holder had stones and an unmortgaged conscience, he'd push the envelope on what is and is not permissible to investigate, and dare Barry to go all Saturday Night Massacre on him. So some of the opprobrium is on Holder, too. Let the eagle soar.
