Yinztopia

Looooooook. Europeans pay more taxes. They also go to jail less and kill fewer brown people. There are, like, tradeoffs, yo. Plainly anarchy and European social democracy are at odds, and yet, for the gazillionth time, the Euros have managed fifty-ish years of relative peace and prosperity and are, on the whole, healthier and happier than Americans. Okay, Charles Krauthammer, you're sort of correct to say that ballooning public debt will eventually demand higher taxation in order to maintain services. 'Cause, seriously, we could be living in a hellhole like this:

Totally lost me, dude.

Are those pics supposed to be appealing or repulsive? Sounds like you're saying that a social-welfare state may not be anarchy, but at least it's better than what we have here . . . which is exactly the chomskian proggle take on why the health insurance reform thingy is so f'ckn awesome.

Dude's story is confusing for us commoners.

What?

I just want to understand this, sir. Every time a rug is micturated upon in Europe, I have to compensate the owner?

"I don't personally endorse it, but, shit, look, it ain't so bad, at very least no fucking worse than our shit."

Nothing complicated.

Yar. Mine wine dealer once digressed on the simultaneous awfulness/excellence of Spanish living (she got "stationed" by her feudal bosses, for six months, in Barcelona).

She loved it. Loved it like a girl first discovering the chessboard sexuality of adolescence.

As an American, she also hated it. Hated that the answer to all problems was "mañana." Road stops in the middle of a llanos wasteland, village to which it allegedly connects still twenty miles away? When to finish it? Mañana.

Restaurant to review the wine list, get orders in? Mañana.

Ferry to Morocco? Mañana.

Of course, I'm personally not sure that's all bad, really.

"Their system may have produced fifty-ish years of relative peace, prosperity, health and happiness, but I refuse to endorse it because I'll not have my hands dirtied by your moral relativism or something."

I love that movie, Jim. Especially the race war.

This article is funny. I mean, of Le Prez really wanted to reduce Federal spending on healthcare, there is a very simple way to do so. Of course, then we would sink to the level of those European barbarians.

Americans (myself included) really are kind of irritatingly pro-active. Or so it seemed to me when I lived abroad. You remember Dick in Tender is the Night, who clears the French beach of pebbles so everyone could enjoy it more? That's my mental image of it--tediously raking rocks from a beach--always some fucking project for improving things. Our Saxon/Protestant cultural heritage, maybe, as the fella says.

Hey IOZ, I am pretty sure that this might probably be inconstent with some other stuff you said one time which I can't quite explain. Account!

Europe's pretty good. You Americans are fucked. I mean, we're fucked too, but it's a slightly more pleasant kind of fucking. In alcoves, natch.

Hey, IOZ, quit screwing with the narrative. Our ignorati bask in the glow of our imagined superiority.

Republicans have taken note of what appears to be a deep distrust of the government solutions among these and other voters. "He believes in government," said Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R, Iowa). "It's the Europeanization of America, and that's not what Americans want."

I'm just really glad that our American way of living WON'T soon require higher taxes to maintain its own basis. Clearly.

Wait until debt, the euro and bureaucracy have turned the eurozone into a never ending, interconnected-economic-crisiszone, and increasingly unhappy Europeans begin to second guess letting in all those brown muslims who are displacing them.

Then you can start patting continental whites on the back, and letting 'em know what a fine job you think they've done over the past 50 years.

Rowan said...

Yeah, weren't the 50 years before WWI pretty good and war-free on the Continent?

Only because the pro teams left their home fields and went on a global tour.

Of course, being a Galt-like superman, I'm sure you won't notice, living as you will in a gated community of pure capitalist producers.

To get back to the warning that I received. You may take it with however many grains of salt that you wish. That the brown Muslims that are circulating around us aren't too good. It is suggested that you stay away from them. Of course it's your own trip. So be my guest, but please be advised that there is a warning on that one, ok?

As a European myself, I'm curious as to where the brown Muslims are supposed to be displacing us to...
