Gaol

Charlie Davis hits a point that I make every third Tuesday, which is that self-obsessed liberals will forever decry as racists men who offend their delicate racial sensibilities and reified mythology of Civil Rights "victories," even as their own precious liberal candidates propose and enact policies that are objectively worse for black people.

Well maybe... but even allowing arguendo that progressives have destroyed the black community... actual consequences are not really important, are they? The important thing is to have good intentions.

You said the same thing much better about his dad. Allow me to toot your horn while simultaneously blowing mine. …what?

IOZ on Dennis Perrin on Ron Paul.

Every tub of bathwater includes the baby in this bogus string of illogic. Civil Rights "victories," in quotes? Srsly? Very nice.

The only answer to the utterly bogus contrast between Rand Paul and Democratic candidates is to cast a plague on both their houses.

But your anarchists really go go for the libertarian trick, don't you? If Rand and his dad took over the state, nobody would get out of jail. The jails would merely be privatized, to provide more frugal services. Oh, and speaking of racism, as per stated Paul policy platforms, there would also be army battalions and smart bombers "policing" the Mexican border.

None of which is to excuse the Democrats or what passes for progressives.

And P.S. That's a beautiful little piece of "professional left" pink-baiting there by Davis.

This "Michael Dawson" character is great, IOZ.

My god, those libertarians might start putting National Guard troops on the border . . . like Barack Obama! And "pink-baiting", lulz.

Michael Dawson said...

You're quite the character yourself, Chuck. Lulz it up, as you apparently aren't capable of noticing yourself admit that your own supposed point just went up in smoke.

The pink baiting thing's just over your head, I realize.

Say what you will about Guantanamo, but remember to mention Saddam's rape rooms.

Michael Dawson was so fine
He wouldn’t get up to serve the swine;
He lies in bed till eight or nine,
So it’s: Oh, poor Michael Dawson.

And do ye ken Michael Dawson, honey?
The man who sells the barley, honey?
He won’t get up to feed his swine,
And do ye ken Michael Dawson, honey?

Speaking of liberal assholes, guess who wrote this:

"Personally, I’m not satisfied with the job they are doing (unemployment is horrible, they’ve spent too much time negotiating with Republicans, the drone wars, the civil liberties issues, Lloyd Blankfein is still a free man, etc.), and think there have been some real failings and some real let-downs. But I will belly crawl over broken glass while someone pours lemon juice and rubbing alcohol on me to vote for the Democrats in November."

Hint: he's on your blogroll.

By the way, the Nevada Libertarian Party ran a spot (weekly, I believe) dedicated to debunking the US empire on SNCAT as 2a.m.

Whether they still run it I can't say. About all I can find on the local cable access channels here in pinko, Blue State NY is music videos with effects rendered on a Super-VHS device.

Privatize the jails?! That's just crazy talk and no one would ever suggest that! Just like President Obama would never send national guard troops to the Mexican border! Obviously anarchist-libertarian lies! Harrumph!

@Michael Dawson:
Are you really unaware of William Jefferson Clinton's prison privatization fetish?

Isn't the Rand Paul action figure puppet amazing! When you push the button in his back he plays libertarian soundbites and strikes a rugged pose. Unlike the liberal opponent puppet [batteries not included] Paul comes with his own set of set of rechargeable batteries and not one but two cheap suites you can change him into!

Forever engaged by the puppets, their strings, buttons, and batteries. Never taking on the button pushers and string controllers.

The noise about someone (RPaul) that is yet to keep office of any relevance, is simply astounding!

How'd that one go ""hobgoblins, all imaginary", no?

I agree with Dr. Paul the Younger that while we cannot have a blanket decriminalization of drugs, we can at least get the federal government out of it and let the matter be handled more locally. Because if history has taught us anything, it's that local law enforcement is objectively better for black people.

The two words would be synonymous in any other country.

Conway the state Attorney General is jailing blacks for drug crimes as fast as he can.
Paul the candidate wants to put an end to the jailing of black people for drug use by…….getting the feds out of the picture and turning the responsibility over to state and local governments.
Thus the solution to the abuses of AG Conway is to grant AG Conway more authority.
Oh, I guess you can argue AG Conway would have fewer dollars to jail black people if the feds funding were really pulled (and the notion that any Libertarian politician in America would ever get around to doing so seems a tad unlikely) but the most likely outcome would be continued incarceration at current rates and the elimination of other programs. AG Conway ain’t jailing blacks as a hobby: its good local politics. His type will always find the money to flog this issue.

"Of course, Paul has plenty of actually silly and stupid ideas, having enjoyed The Fountainhead a bit too much as a young man, and has said a number of actually silly and stupid things -- like arguing oil giant and global asshole BP was somehow being unfairly treated in the wake of its destruction of the Gulf of Mexico. He also rather, uh, inarticulately defended his philosophical opposition to a piece of 1960s-era civil rights legislation, to put it mildly"

wasn't the very post before this about how you're not supposed to defend someone with horrible beliefs because they have a couple of not horrible beliefs?

I liked that post!
