My Pens look great. Also, they are playing exceptionally well. Sidney Crosby is one of the great athletes of this generation in any sport, just an astonishing, beautifully virtuosic player of a fast, brutal game. The fact that he does not appear to have a predilection for rape washed down with Jagerbombs is the gild on the lily, although, I have to admit, if I was gonna let someone slip it through the five-hole, it'd be Kris Letang.

Yeah, they are on a hot streak. I had sort of thought that after last year ... once you got past a good spell in the first part of the season, their record was very average ... and the beginning of this year that their lack of talented wings was a fatal flaw and that Bylsma's magic had worn off. Apparently not. And they haven't even got Staal back yet ...

"slip it through the five hole"
That is a most disturbing mental image considering all the weird pointy shit goalies wear these days.
Sidney Crosby is one of the great athletes of this generation in any sport,
Still has a long way to go to be discussed in the same breath as the great one or Bobby Orr.
Crosby is the best in the game...he'll throw down when necessary too, unlike Ovechkin
fish,
You'll note our host said this generation. Orr was two generations ago and Gretzky was the last one. You're getting old...like me.
Having said that, Sidney Crosby is a fucking crybaby.
Signed,
Red Wings Fan
I think your blog post was secretly a awesome beginning to a potential series of blog posts about this topic. So many people pretend to comprehend what they’re talking about when it comes to this topic and generally, very few people actually get it. You seem to grasp it though, so I think you ought to run with it. Thanks a lot!
Josh Marshall's sock puppet;
Watching Ralph Nader on TV blasting the President's tax deal and suggesting that someone primary him. Considering this is the 10-year anniversary of this abomination, which was caused by Nader's sanctimonius narcissistic delusions, and resulted in the country's worst decade, he can go to hell. It makes me even more convinced that the President is right.

You'll note our host said this generation.
yeah, I know, just being a little crusty and expecting a full decade of dominance before earning the greatest of a generation moniker.
That said, I would kill to have him playing for the Bruins.
Where the hell is that guy's beard? Does the NHLPA know about this...?
That's for the playoffs captain sports fan.
Off-topic, but Josh Marshall highlights a quote by a TPM reader: (paraphrasing) "Ten years ago, Nader gave us Bush. Therefore, Nader's complaints about Obama continuing Bush's tax policies convince me that Obama is right to continue Bush policies!"

Marshall, I suspect, is not highlighting that quote because he disapproves of it.
It's a league game, Smokey.
And, just for Anon 11:14,
Thanksralph!
Oh, crap, I hadn't noticed that Anon got to Marshall's hackery before I did.
I wrote to Marshall thus:
"Seriously?? You're going to highlight a comment that suggests that because of the false perception that Nader's 2000 run gave us Bush and because Nader now, a full decade later, criticizes Obama's continuation of Bush tax policies, than Obama is correct to extend Bush policies?? Seriously?? That is some serious barrel-scraping apologetics, my man.
Is Nader to blame now for the fact that Guantanamo is still open, that
Obama has expanded our wars, that he has enabled the forces wanting to slash Social Security, etc? The goddamn Dems had the White House and super-majorities in the Congress for two years, for fuck's sake!
If, 30 years from now, hypothetically, a Democrat were to launch a world-destroying nuclear war, I fully expect my dying curses to be interrupted by Democratic partisans claiming it's my fault for voting for Nader in 2000!
You should be embarrassed for yourself and for commenter LF."
Marshall wrote me back: "I think you should avoid making wild interpretations because of one reader's sound off email."
One reader's sound off email I featured on my main page. It is just crazy for you to assume I endorsed the sentiments.
It was a crazy match. It makes for the violence or irrational temper, crazy attack and confrontation.
Woops, I stand corrected
