Piece of the Middle East

What I want to know is how does this affect America? What does it mean for America? In what way is it about America? To what extent does it reflect America? In what manner can we say that it was influenced by America? To what degree can we say that America affects it? How will it in turn affect America? What is its import for America? Will it be good for America? What are America's obligations? How deeply ought America be involved? How much support can America offer? America America America America. America America America. America America America America America.

Actually, there has been some contention that the release of the Wikileaks documents helped (at least in some small measure) unleash the wave of protests in Tunisia that brought the government down there, and has now spilled over elsewhere. See, e.g.: http://www.juancole.com/2011/01/bradley-manning-and-mohamed-bouazizi.html

Of course, that's kind of the theme of "America... not so good... friend to dictators and repression" (see even today: this [literally, Joe Biden]: http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Backchannels/2011/0127/Joe-Biden-says-Egypt-s-Mubarak-no-dictator-he-shouldn-t-step-down ) But I didn't say we weren't gonna get our hair mussed.

America... f*** yeah!

Please be aware that the Rose is the National Flower of the United States of America (USA). Also, Rose petals are edible.

Look man, you make it seem like we're so self involved that we ignore the wishes and desires of other peoples. But it's a FACT, they are more concerned with America than they are with themselves. They want America to remain preeminent in the world. Just ask 'em!

Al Jazeera is streaming live coverage from Egypt here right now. At the moment I'm watching a bunch of people setting fire to a troop carrier and trying to dump it off a bridge into the Nile.

This is an outrageous post. Clearly we should be asking ourselves how it affects Israel.

The NDP HQ on fire right now, in Cairo.

Expect Joe Biden to tell us that the US loves the Egyptian people for their own sake. Michelle Malkin, tomorrow, will tell us that George Bush did all this.

As I like to say, for Americans who look out to the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, all we see are giant mirrors.

It is with deep regret that I announce the tarnishing of America's reputation as a direct and proximate result of Tunisian and Egyptian citizens revolting against regimes that have long enjoyed American governmental support.

Yours very shamefully and with great embarrassment to be an American,

It's a good job this isn't an American-backed regime change, they have a way of working out in Iran's favour.

And solidarity, my swarthy friends. Kick that fucker out.

LOLz at Obama calling on them to reinstate internet tubes. Cisco built the kit and Uncle Sam settled the bill.

I'm finding that watching Al Jazeera with Bach's Ouverture No. 3 in D Major playing in the background is infinitely better than Dark Side of the Moon & The Wizard of Oz.
