This article by Ross Douthat is pretty good as far as such things go, but I wanted to share the chuckle of this gang of dance partners presented as a list of opponents in rare agreement. Liberal internationalists and neocons! Will wonders never cease?

One is that the United States shouldn’t go to war unless it has a plan not only for the initial military action, but also for the day afterward, and the day after that. Another is that the United States shouldn’t go to war without a detailed understanding of the country we’re entering, and the forces we’re likely to empower.

Gosh, and here I thought the mighty NYT had been happy to print all that propaganda that helped us invade Iraq, I must be wrong.

Ross is still recovering. Like all of us, he just got hit with a series of very real negative shocks. Give him a little time and he'll remember why its OK to invade with any sort plan for the first day and every day thereafter, so long as the Weekly Standard and the New Republic, Hillary Clinton as well as John McCain, agree.
