The Temple of Boom

What is the game in Pakistan?  Good lord, even Gee Dub was smart enough to steer mostly clear of Pakistan.

Navigating the lies and subterfuge is an unexact science. You can't rule out incompetence. These grunts are fucking trigger happy!

Hey, the Afghanis called it in. If they thought that the U.S. was at war with Pakistan, what with the bombs the U.S. keeps dropping there and the terrorists whom the ISI keeps tucking away in the hills, well, honest mistake on their part.

Hideous, hideous article about the possibility that we should care about the point of view of a gaggle of warmakers having to skirt around the effects of their warmaking in order to maintain the current regimen of warmaking.

In someplaces I've never been to. In the Guardian.

Having to rely on the news media you can only guess. It could be Pakistan is seen as too uppity which the U.S. cannot tolerate so occasionally you have to slap the uppity brown people down just to show them who’s boss.

Well played, Mathmos.

I wanted to leave some smart comment but i just cannot understand the game plan here. So, the empire wants an excuse to take control of Pakistan's nukes: easy enough to get. And TAPI is presumably part of this also. So why facilitate terror attacks a la Raymond Davis and deliberately aggravate the Pak military by killing their personnel? Fomenting a coup? I'm sure there's something obvious here i'm missing but for the life of me i can't see it.

never attribute to malice what can adequately be explaiend by stupidity ...

Occam's Razor and like that ... blah de blah ... who loves ya, baby?

Aeolus said...

Isn't it obvious? The game in Pakistan is "Sorry."

Eerily Lackadaisical said...

Yabbut Aeolus - the "Sorry" game has two versions - it can be played in "sincere" mode or as just another variant of the "honest game".

Which did you mean?

Anonymous said...

Which version includes ritual suicide???

Anonymous said...

Nah, nah

Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't.

The concept of the Empire trying to roll back the nukular genie a bit I think has merit...

to nonny@942 -

Can we ever really know for sure WHO dropped a 1500 lb. laser guided bomb on a Pakistani millitary base? or why? Now is not the time to play the blame game. We need to look forward, not backward, and let the healing process begin.

"Thermobaric version of the Hellfire

Hellfire thermobaric warhead using a metal augmented explosive charge is used primarily in urban warfare, against bunkers, buildings caves and other concealed targets. This warhead is designed to inflict greater damage in multi-room structures, compared to the Hellfire's standard or blast-fragmentation warheads. The Metal Augmented Charge or MAC (Thermobaric) Hellfire, designated AGM-114N, has completed rapid development cycle in 2002 and was deployed during OIF by US Marines Helicopters in Iraq. The new warhead contains a fluorinated aluminum powder that is layered between the warhead casing and the PBXN-112 explosive fill. When the explosive detonates, the aluminum mixture is dispersed and rapidly burns. The resultant sustained high pressure is extremely effective against enemy personnel and structures. The AGM-114N is designed for deployment from helicopters such as the AH-1W or UAVs such as the Predator drones."

Vaporized indeed.. The Ironically named "Hellfire" missle is the Modern Americans greatest contribution to "world peace".
